Sharon was invited to join Tororo Girls School this year, a highly prestigious secondary school in Eastern Uganda. This is in part due to the education she received through Give Us Wings’ Family to Family Sponsorship program. She was able to get a private education and stand out early in her academic career. Her parents are strong supporters of her education and are involved in the journey with her.
Sharon also works hard outside of the classroom. She asked for a small plot of land from her family and began growing maize and beans. She gave the beans to her family and sold the maize, turning a profit. She bought more maize and used her earnings from the second harvest to buy a calf and help fund her own education.
